Security is important. There’s no doubt about it, whether for personal security, overseas travel. Each and everyone of us needs to feel secure especially in one’s home. There are a number of companies specialising in such areas. Each has its own area of expertise. However, i could not not help but noticing that whether it be commercial or residential buildings, there is one thing in common-the alarm sound. Have you ever noticed that increasingly when the alarm goes on, it can make you deaf??? I mean, it’s good that the neighbourhood knows about may be there is something wrong in your building, and that appropriate actions can be taken, or it can act as a deterrent for the intruder if any, but for god’s sake, why the decibel so loud??? I am talking out of experience. My neighbour has installed an alarm system. Oh dear, when it goes on, you would wish you were deaf.. I am not joking…

(image at cowsarejustfood.wordpress.com)

Is there a norm for such devices?Why does it have to be so loud? Silent alarms do exist, so why not propose such systems as alternatives? Are they so much expensive that the majority of us opt for the conventional ones? We are talking about an ile maurice durable, serenity at home englobes such aspect.

(image at blog.kir.com)

So please security companies, do phase out such systems or at least diminish the decibels for our ears’ drums sake and for our children and grand grand children. We have only one pair of ears and it’s for our entire lifetime.

Greetings everyone! So how was your weekend? Many of us must have enjoyed their long weekend especially those who do not work on Saturdays. Some companies even decided to resume work on Wednesday given Tuesday is a public holiday. I think schools as well are given a day off (mid term?). Well guess what?? My boss and his wife did the same today. They made a bridge (fer pont in creole). So while asses are working, Mr and Mrs are sunbathing in a nice little resort. And what really sucks is Mrs phoned to enquire whether any employee has fer pont… Comme koi l’exemple vient d’en haut… No holidays in the coming month. So will begin the long desert walk. Must feed on water and air.

This is the story of two cousin(e)s. They both worked in the same company. One is the wife of the boss and the other accountant. One day the accountant left and worked with her boyfriend. The company where the wife works bought parts from the company where the accountant works. Now it’s time for settlement but the payment is still way to go. The accountant phoned the cousin(e). But the latter refused to talk to her for some obscure reasons. The call is forwarded to the husband who promised the other cousin(e) that payment will be in due course. However when due date comes, still no payment. The cousin(e) again phoned and asked to speak to the husband. The latter refused to talk to her but wanted to speak to the boyfriend instead. Access to boyfriend is denied to the husband. The cousin(e) asked to be talked to. Refusal of the husband again. The cousin(e) phoned again and again day after day. The receptionist could only take note and when matter took disportionate characters, she issued the matter to the wife who promptly told the former that should the cousin(e) call again to tell her the following:

1. the husband wanted to talk to the boyfriend because it is the latter the owner and boss of the company, not the cousin(e);

2. should the boyfriend want his money he has to call back the husband.

The receptionist only relayed the second message because of the obvious. The cousin(e) took good note of the message.

To be continued….

And i thought it was only in dodo land that it is very hot. At midnight on Monday 11th, it was 37 deg. in Melbourne. Locals were unable to sleep and flocked to ice cream parlours and the beaches for some night swimming. Southern Australia remains high on risk on fire alert warnings. At 27 deg at night we are complaining about intense heat but when hearing about the situation in Aussie, we could not help but say to ourselves that we are still lucky. Tiredness and lack of sleep will accompany us for the remaining months of summer and for those who are enjoying cool air and good sleep, thumps up!

It’s quite unusual for the national station to air consecutive episodes on the same day or even a day after, apart from an epic episode or special events. Series like CSI-NY and New York 911 have 2 episodes broadcast on the same day. I like to watch sci-fi, supernatural movies or series and hopefully would appreciate this one too. From what i gather, it seems like a demon chase like Buffy the vampire slayer. Did someone watch Supernatural? How is it?

It seems yesterday when we were all rejoicing that end of year is near, and that implied holidays… Now it will be only a couple of days before we all resume work, sigh!!! Holidays will be over for some (in 7-8 hours time) while for others it will be in a week’s time. What have i done during these days off, well nothing useful :p Made up a couple of things which should be done but at the end of the day, 100% undone and 100% uncompleted. Laziness and heat and torrential rains are to be blamed. As usual hihihi! Ok better try to get some sleep but no easy with buzzing sounds around coupled with scorching humidity and heat….

When asked whether it would be ok to resume work on the 4th January 2010, one manager shouted that should work resume on that day, he would submit his resignation immediately. Now that is called spoilness. He has been working for 15 years with the same employer and is more equal than others. There are no retaliations against him when he damaged company cars in accidents. Should a mere mark appear on a car, you would normally get reprimanded, pay for the damage or even get fired should you recur. Well i guess such is life. So when will you resume work?

Had diarrhea yesterday. Don’t know what food was wrong. I had the first discharge early Monday morning. Thought it would ok and went off to work. There my tummy was groining all the time. So i had some pao ti yan (i was out of stock for imodium). Immediately after re toilet again. Then i decided to go back home. On my way back i went to the pharmacy to buy imodium. The first one i called did not have it. It had another pill for diaarhea but it was more powerful, according to the pharmacian. It was like an antibiotic pill and it was 200mg. Since it was new and its doses was more than 100 times in antidiarrhea pills i did not buy it but instead went to another drugstore where finally i got what i wanted and also bought some serum.

Since i was totally dehydrated i took some serum, immediately after which re toilet again. Afterwards i intook the pill and went to prepare some soup for me. Yes! no toilet this time. Then i took some rest for i was completely tired. I woke up around three to recook some soup and to prepare dinner (which consisted of heating up eve’s dinner) for the rest of the family. This time i was pretty hungry and emptied the cooking pan. Off to sleep again to wake up at nine where i ate some apples and reslept to wake up in the morning. Off to work again. Business as usual. Sigh!!! And accummulated work too…Feeling sleepy now. Sweet dreams to all, rrrrrrrrrrrr!!
