Dream bridge!

Friday, August 31st, 2007

The dream bridge! Once again, it is brought forward, and this time it seems that our PM is lobbying strongly for this dream to come true.  As for the earlier years, there was some preliminary studies, but it goes that far. There is a consensus that this time however things might be different.  The future will tell.  Should the bridge materialise, Port Louis’ landscape will change radically.

Reminescence!

Friday, August 31st, 2007

10 years since the princess of heart left the world in distress and pain. That’s how the media portrays it. Diana still after all these years brings all people together and the concept still pays  for those who want to do business.

Eventful day!

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Today was quite eventful. It all started at six in the morning when my dad woke me up, with “difer difer”. Still dazzled, i wondered about the fuss and even tried to smell a scent of smoke. Nothing. When I stormed out of the my room, he pointed towards the windows. The scene which offered to me was barely describable. Amidst the yellow flares of streetlights, there was a huge blaze some 50 metres ahead. An intruder alarm stroke the dawn as if to warn the neighbours about the potential danger.

We ran down the stairs and got on the road. Meanwhile we could hear the firefighters sirens. There was a wooden house being eaten by the fiercely flames. The intensity of the flames had been heightened by the a windy howl.  Neighbours started to gather. All of a sudden we saw water jets on the growling flames. At first i thought it was the immediate neighbour who was trying to combat the fire. But it was the firefighters who with their hose advanced courageously towards the eaten house. All a sudden, there was a spark. The flames devoured an electrical wire and suddenly the leaves of a neighbouring tree caught fire. The firefighters immediately threw water on the tree and on the remaining sparks on the ground to end the spread.

In less than 10 minutes later the fire was completely under control and extinguished. There was a brownish smoke as the glaze disappeared. Members of the police force and the firefighters would have to enquire on the source of the fire. We could only wonder about the consequence should the fire have started when everybody was deep asleep…. Brrrr!!!! Perhaps all of ward IV would be ash by now….

The evening started after i returned home and started helping out for dinner. A horn warned me that someone was out for me. I came out and it was a driver at the company where i worked at the doors. I enquired and he told me that the boss’s wife was still at the office and she has left her keys at home or even lost them.. So i would have to return to office and close her office bureau with duplicate keys…  I swore heartily and damned the day i came to work for the company. Is this a professional attitude to give keys to x, y, z and come to office each time with the rhetoric, “mo blier mo la cle, fer moi gagne to la cle en coup”? I prefer to close my mouth and watch the show while eating pop corn. Each day there is a different scenario. You would not get bored but you would either get ulcer or “anvie de meutre”. No wonder so many co-workers left recently after a minimum of 5 years service.

Interisland games!

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

There is presently a fuss concerning the Mauritian participation at the inter island games. The Minister of sports is being heavily criticised for the meagre harvest of gold medals. As usual the opposition party is asking the Minister  to step down.  What do you think? Is the request of the opposition party justified?

Kenichi!

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Today, I discovered a new anime manga. The cd has been lent to me by my cousin. And guess what!! I somehow get a grip on this anime. Sure I still follow bleach, but this one is hell new fun, entertaining and relaxing… It is the story of an average student named Shirahama Kenichi who has earned the nickname “Weak Legs” from always getting bullied. One day he meets a cute girl named Furinji Miu who helps him build the courage to begin training at a mysterious dojo where she lives. Here Kenichi faces intense training from masters of many different martial arts styles as he attempts to become stronger.

I viewed 9 episodes so far and hopefully will be able to view more from the site given to me. I already registered and hopefully will get a positive response. So if you liked bleach, you will certainly like this one too. Enjoy! Apachai!!!

Allez Maurice!

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

The 9th August 2007 coincides with two events. The first is the start of the 7th inter island games of the indian ocean inMadagascar and the second is the opening of Infotech salon at Pailles.

The grand opening of the inter island games startedwill be broadcast live on the 9th August live at 1800 hours (Mauritian time) and the games will last 10days to end on the nineteenth of August 2007. Mauritius aspires to be on the top march of the podium but must face the reality that we are not represented in all disciplines. So in all humbleness while we were on the second march in the last games, and taking into account of the strengths and weakness of all parties, the mauritian delegation is targeting at least to be third on the medal list. So, allez maurice!!!

Price escalation!

Saturday, August 4th, 2007

As expected every month there should be a basic necessity whose price needs to be reviewed upwards. In the papers yesterday there was an article on  a possible price increase in electricity, a 15% increase as from September 2007. The parties concerned did not confirm nor deny the news. However those consuming less than75kwh will be exempted from the rise… What’s next?

New comer!

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Today, a new comer landed on the shores of the company. She worked for three decades in the store department at a well known wholesaler of domestic goods, and recently the company she worked for gave her VRS. Since she is still a bachelor, she quickly got bored at home and contacted our boss’s wife through her father, who happens to be a well known fruit or vegetable seller at Desforges street. So the boss decided to recruit her and instructed her to control transactions on stock items. Needless to say i was assigned to train her on the system we use to manage stock. She has a very tongue. She even advised our boss to use electronic attendance system instead of manual attendance book. As a new comer, and not to displease her, the boss told her to get a quotation.

There is no synergy between us. Hope that she will be work with me, for i do not like persons who talk too much and who ask too many questions and poke their noses in issues that are no concern to them.
